Silk Roads: Zarafshan-Karakum Corridor

Silk Roads: Zarafshan-Karakum Corridor is part of the Tentative list of Tajikistan in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List.
Silk Roads: Zarafshan-Karakum Corridor is a serial transnational nomination with 31 components in Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan representing one on the main corridor of the Silk Road, passing through Samarkand and Bukhara. Tajikistan has 9 sites, two of them on the TL on their own right. All Tajik sites are located in the Zarafshan valley which is a wide terraced loess valley getting It includes remains of settlements, ancient cities, forts protecting the Road and an irrigation system most of them from the 8th century.
