Arasbaran Protected Area

Arasbaran Protected Area is part of the Tentative list of Iran in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List.

Arasbaran is a mountainous region rich in flora and fauna. It has recorded over 200 bird species and notable mammals such as wild goat, wild boar, brown bear, wolf, lynx, and leopard. It is also known for edible trees (hazelnut, walnut) and medicinal plants.
