The Great Wall of Gorgan

The Great Wall of Gorgan is part of the Tentative list of Iran in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List.

The Great Wall of Gorgan was built by the Persian Empire to fortify its northern frontier against China. It is about 200km long and has 38 forts. It was constructed between 420 and 530. The brick wall has mostly disappeared, but mud-brick and fortified sections remain.
