Ancient and Primeval Beech Forests of the Carpathians and Other Regions of Europe - extension (France) has been part of the Tentative list of France.

The Ancient and Primeval Beech Forests of Europe represents relatively undisturbed beech forests across a variety of biogeographical areas in Europe. The French part of this extension includes eight protected areas under different environmental and climatic conditions: locations near the Atlantic coast, in the Ile-de-France region, areas with a Mediterranean climate, and mountain forests in the Pyrenees and the Alpine region.
