Touran Biosphere Reserve

Touran Biosphere Reserve is part of the Tentative list of Iran in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List.

Touran Biosphere Reserve is a large reserve in an arid regions that includes mountains, moving sand dunes and salt pans. It has a high number of endemic plant species and large mammals such as zebra/onager, gazelle, wild cat and the critically endangered Asian cheetah.
