Preah Khan Kompong Svay
The ancient complex of Preah Khan Kompong Svay is part of the Tentative list of Cambodia in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List.
Preah Khan Kompong Svay comprises the remains of a Khmer temple complex that was a way station along the Royal Road to Angkor. It dates from the 11th century. The temple belonged to the ‘pure land’ school of Mahayana-Buddhism. The area had rich iron resources and iron was produced here on the grounds.
