The Hawf Area

.

The Hawf Area is part of the Tentative list of Yemen in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List.

The Hawf Area of Yemen is a “fog oasis” on the Arabian Peninsula, and supports the second largest tree-covered area in Yemen. The protected area borders Oman’s Dhofar region and includes a high degree of plant and animal diversity. The endangered Arabian leopard, Yemen’s national animal, is believed to still have a habitat within the Hawf Area.
