I lived in Savannah for nearly eight years, and think it is the most beautiful place I've ever been. It should be reconsidered as a World Heritage Site because its historic district is truly a time capsule of the 18th and 19th centuries. It would encourage the governors of the city today to preserve even more of the historic sites. As it is, many "progressives" who do not value history and architectural art as they should, are always eager to raze lovely old buildings which they deem useless, in order to put up "convenience" shops and such.
