Anfeh promontories

.

Ras al-Qalaat promontory / Ras Al Natour promontory / Ras el-Mlelih Promontory is part of the Tentative list of Lebanon in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List.

The three promontories represent a cultural landscape of sea salt extraction. Ras al-Qalaat has been used in that way for over 8,000 years. The Byzantine-Crusader Deir al-Natour Monastery is located in the Deir al-Natour salt marshes. All three are located in the village of Anfeh and in the adjacent coastal fields of Hraishi.
