National Park Sierra del Lacandón

National Park Sierra del Lacandón is part of the Tentative list of Guatemala in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List.

National Park Sierra del Lacandón is situated in the tropical rain forest in the north west of Guatemala. It is part of the Maya Biosphere Reserve and is unique for its biodiversity. Several ancient Maya archaeological sites are located within the park boundaries, including Piedras Negras and El Porvenir.
