Lake Tuz

Lake Tuz Special Environmental Protection Area (SEPA) is part of the Tentative list of Turkiye in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List.

Lake Tuz is a large hypersaline lake. The protected area also encompasses surrounding waterbeds and some of the neighboring steppe areas. The lake is important for nesting and wintering wading birds, particularly flamingoes.
