Lake Guija

Lake Guija is part of the Tentative list of El Salvador in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List.

Lake Guija is a 45 square km natural lake of volcanc origin with adjacent areas of marshland and ponds (the Lagunas de Metapan). There are over 20 archaeological sites in its vicinity. The lake is shared with neighboring Guatemala.
