La Réserve de la Biodiversité des éléphants du Gourma is part of the Tentative list of Mali in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List.
The Gourma Elephant Biodiversity Reserve is a vast place with plains, rocks and dunes. It is the only area in the Sahel where elephants can be found. The annual migration of the Gourma elephants follows the large pools of the area.
