Indawgyi Lake Wildlife Sanctuary

Indawgyi Lake Wildlife Sanctuary is part of the Tentative list of Myanmar in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List.

Indawgyi Lake Wildlife Sanctuary is a haven for critically endangered birds such as the White-rumped Vulture and Slender-billed Vulture, and turtles. The large natural freshwater lake with surrounding lowlands is also a RAMSAR site. It provides habitats to at least 20,000 migratory and resident waterbirds. Its fish diversity is also high and includes seven endemic species.
