Ebla (Tell Mardikh) is part of the Tentative list of Syria in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List.

Ebla is a Bronze Age archaeological site. The Eblaite kingdom was a trading empire and later an expansionist power. Excavations have brought forward statues, mudbrick walls, remains of a palace. About 17,000 cuneiform tablet fragments were discovered, written in Sumerian and Eblaite.
