Band-E-Amir is part of the Tentative list of Afghanistan in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List.

Band-E-Amir is a group of 6 lakes known for their pure blue water color. They are located in the Hindu Kush mountains at about 3000m altitude. Band-e Amir is one of the few rare natural lakes in the world which are created by travertine systems.
