The Great Spas of Europe is a serial transnational site that includes the Italian town of Montecatini Terme. One of the most famous and sophisticated Italian spas, its springs have been known since the middle ages. The spa dates back to 1773, but experienced its peak of popularity during the early 20th century and retains the atmosphere of this period. At the centre of the town is a vast park with numerous spa facilities.
