Currently on the WHS News feed on the front page is an entry for an article (Eight mile wall of prehistoric...) that describes an immense area of newly-discovered pictographs in the Amazon region of Colombia.

Many of the reports in the media have erroneously implied that the site is in Chiribiquete National Park, but actually it is in another location entirely, Serranía La Lindosa, Guaviare State, an area just now being explored after the farc signed a peace treaty with the Colombian government.

The photos I have seen so far are absolutely incredible, and this place needs to be added to Colombia's Tentative List as soon as possible!!

Serranía La Lindosa, Guaviare State

That's great. The rock art is incredible. One doesn't have to enter the WHS park to see it.

But that means that, however great the news is, it shouldn't be on the front page as it has no relation to a WHS?

Venice floods as forecasts fail to predict extent of high tide

The barriers have been raised tonight, and will be in use through the whole week because of exceptional acque alte! It seems that the unpredictability of the tide was given by strong winds, together with swollen rivers. It has been raining and snowing unabatedly on all Northern Italy these last days.

Well, the MOSE (the barrier system for flood prevention) is still in an experimental phase, so they'll have to tweak some parameters.

It's still always spectacular nevertheless!
