Your timing is very eerie. I just finished a review referencing Irish DNA without even seeing that you'd posted this in the forum this evening. Very interesting article.

Japan failed to recognize Korea forced labour victims in newly open facilities of Meiji industrial heritage
When the next World Heritage Convention does actually convene, there will likely be (at least) 2 thorny issues brought before the committee.

Just heads up, the news link for the Liverpool zip line links to the main site for china.org which brings me to say this:
- makes no sense to link a Chinese website to an English news item, but okay
- use this instead
https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-merseyside-53222988
- consider not posting state-controlled news items if there are alternatives, e.g. China's Global Times or Xinhua, or the Russian websites. Not to get too political but Wikipedia blocks these as unreliable sources for a reason.

Interesting article highlighting Korean and Dutch WHS.
https://koreajoongangdaily.joins.com/2020/07/09/national/diplomacy/Netherlands-Into-
the-Heart-of-the-Country-Unesco-heritage/20200709165800480.html
On another note, its mentioned Dutch designers will play an important role in what happens to the land of the former Yongsan Military Base. Which has also been rumored as a potential candidate for world heritage status.
"And with discussions underway about how to shape the Yongsan military base into a national park once the U.S. Forces Korea take their leave by 2021, it comes as no surprise that a Dutch designer will influence the project."

Hagia Sophia is converted to a mosque. I feel so embarrassed of what the islamofascist government did. I can assure you that there are at least 40 million Turks in Turkey who share the same feeling. Fascist governments are ruling the world and the world is definitely in flames. So sad...

So based on the latest article Els posted about World Heritage Sites in the News, it looks like 2020 wouldn't have been any better a year to try for St. Kilda. Oh well. Hopefully Rhodes turns out to be a better site for the meet-up for those who can make it.
