A bunch of new sites from Burkina Faso and Micronesia:

Burkina Faso

- Ceremonial Centres of the Early Micronesian States: Nan Madol and Lelu (03/01/2012)

Nan Madol would be a great addition to the WH list in my opinion - it's one of the most important archaeological sites of the Pacific islands.

I don't know what has changed but the current total number of tentative sites is now at 1509. Seemingly a couple sites have been dropped?

-Bosnie-Herzégovine : The natural monument Vjetrenica cave with architectural ensamble of village Zavala

-Fédération de Russie : The Teberdinskiy Reserve (extension of the "The Western Caucasus")

Hi hubert and jonathanfr,

How / where do you see it so quickly which sites have been removed? For me it is almost impossible (besides checking all 1509 all over again)

FOR EXAMPLE, I KEEP MY COMPUTER RECORDED IN 1511 WITH TOP SITES (always keep in your computer an oldest version of the tentative list). I do copy and paste this list into "EXCEL". I MAKE COPY PASTE OF 1509 IN THE SAME PAGE EXCEL IN A nearby settlement. And I see where is the difference between the two columns.

Recently, I had a look at the T-lists of some countries in South America. And I noticed that there was a duplicate with Sistema Vial Andino/Qhapaq Nan. Now I've checked it and - lucky shot.

- National Park of the Sila - Sila, the great forest of Italy (31/01/2012)

United Kingdom

- Darwin's Landscape Laboratory (27/01/2012)

*Perhaps this is a sign that the UK is finally submitting their nominations to Unesco?

A further one from Russia:

Bashkir Ural (30/01/2012)

I'm quite amazed that the UAE are really going to nominate Dubai (see the Khor Dubai description - it's basically the "old" part of Dubai), given the discussions on Sevilla, St Petersburg, etc. Maybe it's ok to nominate a site AFTER you have built the >800 m skyskrapers around it.

Further sites from Tunisia (in French):

- Frontières de l'Empire romain : Limes du Sud tunisien (17/02/2012)

Quite interesting. As far as I know, Tunisia is the first non-European state that has put the 'Frontiers of the Roman Empire' on the T-list. So maybe one day, when the political situation in North Africa is stabilized, the whole Roman Limes could be a WHS.
In Austria, Hungary, and Slovakia they work on the nomination of the Danube Limes. However, I'm afraid that there are not many remains that really can be seen.

2 further sites, one from the Czech Republic and the first one from Antigua and Barbuda:

- Paysage culturel minier des Monts Métallifères (Erzgebirge) (24/02/2012) Czech Republic
- Nelson's Dockyard (17/02/2012) Antigua and Barbuda

The Czech site seems to be linked to the Ore Mountains mining cultural landscape on Germany's TL.
