What do you think the role of museums is (or should be) concerning World Heritage?

I'm currently studying for my postgraduate dissertation and trying to gather existing information, ideas and resources about the role of museums within World Heritage agenda of UNESCO - not just those museums physically situated in a WHS, but also museums in general. In particular, the museum's role in advocating both the value of heritage in general and the importance of preserving heritage to the general public (i.e. part of WHS aims of awareness-raising).

If you are willing to help, either post your idea about the role of museums towards world heritage on this discussion board, OR complete my short nine-question online survey which captures your comments/suggestions less publicly via this link:

I'll be collecting responses until 20th June 2010.

Thank you !!
