Sorry, but for a while I've been off... Is there any kind of voting? What's the rule and how to do it? Would be great to have it clear for everybody...

You haven't missed anything, as far as I know. I'm not sure what or when the next steps will be regarding voting.

I'm going to throw out an idea.

Should the new list be fixed, or could it also be dynamic? Meaning that, when we have a list, we update it every time a site form the Top 50 gets inscribed, and we replace the inscribed site by another site from the same continent.

That way, we could have back-up lists for every continent, and we use the proposed sites from the exercise we did on this forum for every region. And we could maybe keep on proposing other sites?

But if we just decide on a fixed list, it's fine by me as well.

I think we should keep the work done in one place. And then maybe make it a Xmas/Corona downtime/... tradition to do a yearly update. I don't think we need to be as thorough as this time though as we explored a lot already.

Oh, I definitely think we should keep the work we've done.

But my question was: do we keep the resulting Top 50 as a fixed list until we redo this exercise in a number of years, or do we update it every year, while basing us on our work? I'd suggest the latter.

I'd suggest the latter.

I think it's a good idea to be able to see which of our missing sites got inscribed.

Annual tradition of revising the list (incrementally) and revoting could be nice. Sounds like a Xmas tradition.

I think we should keep the point in time top missing for each year and then we can backtrace and compare.

I can live with most omissions. Let's stick to what we have gathered.

Absolutely, not interested in opening new debate either. Just interesting to see what was omitted from the 2014 List. I am pleased Mt. Rushmore was not included. While it is a fairly spectacular site to visit, it's incredibly nationalistic and the checkered History of its location on Indigenous Land makes it controversial even today.

Definitely agree with Mount Rushmore being a nationalistic site rather than a site with OUV.

Any idea what the next steps will be for this process of determining Top 50?
