Solivagant:
So, I wonder which 2 of all these countries with 2 or more sites on our list of 119 you might be referring to!!

My guess would be India or Myanmar, but I could be wrong, maybe it's just my personal point of view.

I'd tend to agree with hubert. It's my guess too! We'll just wait and see :)

Yep, but also thought the USA could be there or there abouts. But maybe that is due to the talk on the forum, from winterkjm and those of us that have a soft sport for Modern Architecture (need to engage with Solivagant's thread on that).
It would be interesting to see a comparison between the votes of active forum members v non forum members.

Els - probably "teaching you to suck eggs" - but can you "arrange" to keep a copy of the voting as at the end of this "round" (ie before it is opened up) so we can
a. Analyse
b. Track any future trends/drift

You mean at Feb 28?

Yes, I already arranged for that.

Today's update:
We have 20 medals now!
oh no, wrong forum

- 83 people have voted
- only 2 sites have no votes at all, and only 6 sites have 1 vote
- the number 1 is still going strong, and 5 votes ahead of number 2
- there's one country with 2 sites in the Top 10, but that's not the same country as yesterday and it isn't Myanmar or India

i think we'd better wait before possibly influencing those who haven't voted yet. At this point, I really have no idea but I hope it is an obvious tentative site that in my opinion really deserves WH status even though it lies in a country with several WHS. :P

I won't tell anyway, but I like reading your guesses (just like the country with 2 in the Top 10)

As I told you, I'm at a loss now, and I have no clue! To me this is really a success story and as much as I have enjoyed analysing all the different sites in the voting list, I'm now even more eager to analyse all the different results.

There was a clear number 1 for me, Bagan, and I think I have faith that others are with me on that. Amritsar would be my other one that would be a potential candidate.

pff speed-skating, Curling is obviously the main winter Olympic sport!

Surely, the country with 2 sites in the top 10 is the United States. Firstly, because there are several nominations widely considered Top 50, and there is a large voting contingent from the United States.

Please, don't answer my guess, but that is my logic. From what Els has revealed, there are 8 nominations with little or no support. I am curious, which sites fall into this category.
Els, has any users actually chosen to vote for less than 20?

I saw one in the beginning, with 6 or 8 sites or so. But I haven't looked at them all in detail. 95% will have voted for 20 sites, is my feeling

I would agree with meltwaterfalls: Bagan, or Amritsar... or Dzongs of Bhutan?

What? As an almost assimilated Austrian I say: Men Downhill is the only medal that counts, the rest is a nice appendix.
As a native German: a quick look at the medal table
