I've got 10 in common with you - best match so far!

You have good taste, Els! :-)

Well, not that easy to select 20. The first eleven were no problem, for the remaining nine I had to select out of a personal long list of 27. And I had to seek for more information on many of the proposals in the last days. Really enjoyable and exiting.
And I had seven votes that are not on the current T-list.

We're on 48 voters now, choosing 113 different sites.

And... there's a new number 1!
The site that has been at the top spot from the beginning, has been overtaken by a surprising nomination...

Not for an obviously "nationalistic" voting reason I hope!!

So great to see this process advancing! As is logic, I have already voted on my top 20. Difficult selection, indeed, but I tried to be as objective as possible. I tried to select as many natural, and filling-the-gaps sites as possible, since that is my approach. I would have not wanted to select sites that are in the front row for inscription this year or the next, but anyway, there are options that are so obvious you cannot discard them.

a new number 1... how fascinating...

At least this shows that there are no sites on our list with universal approval - not even the seemingly most iconic ones.

We're on 57 voters now, and indeed there's a huge variation:
- 115 different sites have received votes (so only 4 haven't yet)
- the number 1 has 30 votes, so support from just over 50%

(And the number 1 position is back to the original front runner)

Daily update for Monday 17 Feb:
- we're on 75 voters now
- they voted for 116 different sites
- the "old" number 1 is still going strong at the top spot
- there is 1 country with 2 sites in the Top 10
- the number 50 has 10 votes

the number 50 has 10 votes

That is actually better than I thought it would be at 13%.
Without thinking of it too much I guess a 1:7 support for the low end is decent, considering the number of variables.

I was expecting there to be a long tail of sites with 1 or 2.
It will be interesting to pick apart the data at the end, but I am pretty interested in what the 3 sites are that haven't attracted a vote.

I was also expecting a more skewed distribution, obviously it is not necessary to define a minimum of votes to qualify for the Top50 (as I actually had suggested). And I am surprised that there are only 3 sites without a vote.

elsslots:
- there is 1 country with 2 sites in the Top 10

There are only two possibilities, I guess. And I've voted twice for both countries.

So, I wonder which 2 of all these countries with 2 or more sites on our list of 119 you might be referring to!!
Afghanistan, Chile, China, France, Germany, Greece, India, Mexico, Peru, Philippines, Russia, Ukraine, UK, USA
