Plans for a serial transnational nomination of five iron arch bridges built at the end of the 19th century. The activities were initiated by Germany.https://www.welt.de/regionales/nrw/article170116899/Muengstener-Bruecke-soll-Transnat ionales-Welterbe-werden.html
The Müngsten bridge was already proposed in 2012 for the new German T-list, but did not pass the pre-evaluation in North Rhine-Westphalia. It was suggested to consider a serial nomination of similar bridges in Europe. The following bridges have been suggested:
Müngsten Bridge in Germany, Ponte Dom Luis I and Ponte Maria Pia in Porto, Viaduc de Garabit in France and Ponte San Michele in northern Italy.
A congress with experts, representatives of the participating cities and ICOMOS Germany took place in October. In addition to the usual forewords and the program, the pdf also contains photos of the bridges and the CVs of the speakers:http://docs.dpaq.de/12876-brosch_re_tagung_dina5_ebook.pdf
Of interest: the Ponte Dom Luis I is included in the Oporto WHS, Ponte Maria Pia is about one kilometre east of the core zone.
