Stanisław, thanks for info, maybe war cemeteries in Galicia are closest to be WHS because of WWI anniversary. Some of google translations are quite funny - breakthrough Dunajec ("przełom Dunajca") instead of Dunajec Gorge...

Romania's Virgin Forests

Romania holds 65% of the remaining virgin forests in Europe (besides Russia) and they have a real heritage value for both Romania and the world. The environmental organizations struggle to protect what's left of them.

Little confused is Seodaemun Prison (Korea) and Lushun Prison (China) exploring a join bid? Or is Korea just gathering more research for their own bid. The translation is a bit difficult.

In recent years, Iran was one of the most active states in terms of inscriptions. A huge indicative list of 150 properties should arrive. Someone knows the content? Thank you.

Bangkok World Heritage Site

Recently Bangkok removed market on the old fortification canal as a part of plan to register the old city area as World Heritage Site. The picture of before and after is really shocking.

I note that the recent review of Tabriz Market by Stanislaw Warwas refers to the nearby "Iranian cave city of Kandovan". That site is not currently on Iran's T List but appears to be getting itself ready for Nomination. See this from May 2015 -
http://financialtribune.com/archive/2015/08/20/articles/people-travel/16570/kandovan- village-may-be-nominated-unesco-list
and this from 2014 which refers to actions being taken to improve the site

Another report from this "Tea Road" nomination plan, this time a century-old Zhangjiakou North Railway Station, the ending point for the Zhangjiakou-Beijing railway.

Hin Nam Nor (Laos) is mentioned as a candidate nomination that may be pursued after the Plain of Jars.

Should this Mexico candidate be more of an aspiring nomination?
