We've now been publishing this list of contributors to this website / community members for so long, it is just a fact of life that we are confronted with WHS lovers that die. I'd still like to keep them among the list of our members. This new topic is to update you when I have been given notice of a death among our group.

Earlier this year of course we already had to say goodbye to Iain Jackson.

Yesterday I was made aware of the death of Christer Sundberg. He passed away already last year after an illness. Christer was active in the early hours on this website. He made youtube video's about his visits to WHS in a documentary manner (this was before vlogging was invented).

We met once: we visited Schokland together in March 2007 when he was in the Netherlands. He travelled a lot (mainly in Europe) at that time, before systematic / competitive travel became a thing. He was a big, eager guy ready to take on the world.

Oh wow, I remember his video reviews. I'm sorry to hear the news, but thank you for passing it on, Els.

A sad news, he was one of very active contributors and his works are very useful. I used his informative review as references on my visit to Germany couples of years ago. RIP

Oh no that is very sad news.

Christer felt very much like a kindred spirit to me in the earlier days of this website, before the community developed on this forum it seemed that our travels and perspectives matched up a lot. I held his reviews in very high regards.

Very sad news indeed but thank you for letting us know.

Very sad news, indeed.
When I joined this website, Christer was one of the reviewers I trusted the most. His videos are very infomative and added a new colour to the review section.
RIP, and let's hope this thread doesn't grow too fast.
