Oh no! Mr Tian has no time tomorrow, and the Guatemalan vice-president has to chair again.

I like it when he smiles smugly at Norway and says after yet another adjustment of their textual suggestions to amendments - "Norway, are you OK?"

Working groups are schedulled for Friday morning. Gdansk should follow the desissions that will be adopted for sites related to negative" events.

Ïf I understand properly, Danube limes should be discussed on Friday or even earlier, and there are two options: 1) inscribe everything without Hungary, 2) send back to Austria, Germany, Slovakia and evaluate again.
As it is an absurd site and very absurd situation, I have no idea what will happen... Thus I have no preferentions

Oh well, Australia's brazen lobbying for not inscribing the Great Barrier Reef on the In-Danger-List might knock that rating down a bit.

To sum up this year crop in a global optimistic way, I am happy with inscription of all sites in Afrika, South Amerika, (almost) all natural sites + Padua frescoes! Alltogether 11 from 33 in total. It is not such a bad at all. From these, I would really like to visit Church of Atlantida, Ivindo National Park, Burle Marx, and Sudanese style mosques.
From my personal point of view, I have increased my count by 8 + 1 extension.

ICOMOS role in standardizing OUV and gatekeeper at this point primarily lies in identifying "Incomplete" nominations and Advising "Not Incribe" when warranted. It is nothing new that Deferrals and Referrals are overturned, but I certainly remember different committees in years past being less inclined to inscribe Deferrals, but instead award less harsh decisions (by their view), such as changing a Deferal to a Referral.

Perhaps the frustration of not having had a site listed last year has resulted in an increased willingness to list sites this year, like someone craving their usual drug.
