Article in Italian about the extension of the historical centre of Florence to include the abbey of San Miniato, the Church of San Salvatore al Monte, le Rampe and the piazzale Michelangelo. The extension has had a positive evaluation by Icomos.

Poor Poland, but not surprised. They tried to have heritage properties in Gdansk in 1997-1998 (withdrawn) and 2005 with a different focus, scope, and narrative each time but obviously failed.

And except a part of components in France.

And Budapest.

Most of it was clear from the start. I assume plenty of deferrals and referrals will be overwritten, so numbers will tilt even further in the wrong direction.


Again a very Europe centric WHS selection.

Why is NL missing?


Not a big fan of Nice. Nice place, but not WHS material. As referrals get inscribed more often than not, though... Nice, the WHS, is a sure fire thing.


Lets start the betting pool. Which not inscribe site will be inscribed? ...

Sad but not surprising, as I staded in my review from this year. I'm going to lose two sites with only a few new ones...

From the documents it seems that this was actually intended already since the first nomination, but somehow never was made official. It is a quite natural "extension", in my opinion; and San Miniato is one of the most beautiful churches I have seen.
