It's fortunate the Germans plan so far ahead. I am proud to open the 2022 WHC topic with Schwerin (Germany).

The Olive Grove Landscapes of Andalusia (Spain)

"Still working so that in the horizon of the year 2020 this is the candidature that the Government of Spain chooses to present to Unesco"

To me this sounds as a nomination dossier will be finalized by late 2020, in time to submit by the February 2021 deadline.

Koh Ker (Cambodia)

"My team has started this process. In fact, submitting the proposals is not easy. It takes four years, which includes investigating and reviewing documents in French. Many countries have submitted their proposals and conditions have become more difficult," so maybe in 2022...

The Rise of Systematic Biology (Sweden)

I have been informed that 2022 is the earliest date for inscription. Sweden is working on partnerships with other nominating countries to include their components on their respective tentative lists.

Looks like 2022 will be my year...
Mont Blanc, Schwerin, Olive Grove, Seoul City Wall, Koh Ker, Systematic Biology... :D
Unfortunately, it does not look a huge batch of strong contenders from what I have seen.

Did you go hiking at Mont Blanc? I am considering not counting this for just stopping over at Chamonix. I'm not into actually climbing the mountain either though.

Korea's next nomination is officially aiming for 2022. Unless, an announcement is made there will be no Korean nomination for 2021. There is so much work being done about the Gaya nomination as it expanded to include more sites, some which needed to be nationally designated, more archaeological work, improved visitor facilities/infrastructure, management plans, and perhaps most importantly comparative analysis with other tumuli in East Asia.

- Gaya Tumuli (Korea)

Looks like Panama will try again.
- The Colonial Transisthmian Route of Panamá (Panama)

In addition, it seems like several countries are narrowing down candidates, but we cannot specifically name the official candidate. I suppose, this might be the new normal with only one nomination per year.
