Looks like Nîmes, Antiquity to the present will try again in 2020. Nice may get an official submission between 2021 - 2023.

winterkjm:
Western Xia Imperial Tombs (China) for 2020.

http://www.ecns.cn/news/culture/2018-09-20/detail-ifyyehna1448066.shtml

I am not so sure about this one, sounds more like a local wish.
I had already 2 pencilled in for China for 2020: Jinggangshan--North Wuyishan (Extension of Mount Wuyi) and Chinese Section of the Silk Road. And you had the City Walls of the Ming and Qing Dynasty in your last summary, winterkjm. They can only have 1 nomination.

If anything, China's world heritage candidature selection process has become more difficult to ascertain! There are so many nominations that are in the pipeline, yet their dossier status varies substantially. Its also very difficult (using Google Translate) to differentiate between hopeful candidates and submitted nominations ready to be evaluated by the Advisory bodies? Reports about the Western Xia Imperial Tombs are coming from major newspapers throughout China, so I'm not sure we can completely rule this nomination out.

I can count no less than 9 sites that seem to be vying for the right to submit their nomination in the coming years.

Wait List/ In Development (9)
- City Walls of the Ming and Qing Dynasties (China) C
- Western Xia Imperial Tombs (China) C
- Shudao (China) M
- Lingqu Canal (China) C
- The Ancient Waterfront Towns in the South of Yangtze River (China) C
- Sites of Hongshan Culture: The Niuheliang Archaeological Site (China) C
- Ancient Tea Plantations of Jingmai Mountain in Pu'er (China) CL
- Xinjiang Altai Mountains [Extension] (China) N
- Jinggangshan--North Wuyishan [Extension] (China) M

winterkjm:
Colonies of Benevolence (Belgium, Netherlands)

I think this will be later (2021 at the earliest) - they got a Deferral this year, would be too quick to revise the whole nomination before 1 Feb 2019. Also, Netherlands will be the leading (and probably only) State Party and it already has Nieuwe Hollandse Waterlinie scheduled.

Augustów Canal (Belarus, Lithuania, Poland)

Lithuania does not have the Canal on its Tentative List, so I don't think they're in

Any thoughts on these 2 nominations?

Myauk-U seemed to be on track, but with the Rohingya refugee crisis and the unrest and violence in Rakhine State, this nomination may have been shelved. Original article (Jan 2018)) that indicated 2020. Here is the (April 2018) article that claims the nomination has been put on hold.

Sweden's only remaining tentative nomination is something of an enigma, since we don't really know much about this nomination except for vague reports more than one year ago. There was even talk of a transnational nomination. I've searched considerably, but there has been nothing since March 2017 in this article. This was a hopeful article, stating at the earliest the nomination could be submitted in February 2019.

Has the original Ancient Plovdiv nomination been replaced with a more narrowed version? If so, its unlikely we'll see this nomination in 2020, right?

Myauk-U Archaeological Area and Monuments (Myanmar)
The Rise of Systematic Biology (Sweden)

The Ancient Plovdiv [2004)] or Bishop's Basilica and Late-Antique Mosaics of Philippopolis, Roman Province of Thrace [2018] (Bulgaria)

Dominican Republic - Historical Centre of Puerto Plata

The report said the government already submit document to UNESCO and is now underway to present the corresponding documentation, so that next year (2020 WHC?), La Isabela, historic city of Puerto Plata will be declared a World Heritage Site

Regarding the potential Dominican Republic nomination, I think its clear the article is referencing the addition of La Isabella to the state parties tentative list.

Archaeological Site of Villa La Isabela was submitted as a tentative nomination in 05/02/2018
