Funny how many people have been checking regularly! I also did an hour or so, and now Barabanov & you are right on time!

Yes, funny :)

I am a little surprised that another vineyard is accepted.

Prosecco Hills - inscribe

Oh no, that means a 4 hour drive just to visit yet another vineyard. I will probably combine it with a hiking tour in the Friulian Dolomites. Though i've already ticked off seven of the nine parts of the Dolomites whs, a visit to the eighth part sounds much more appealing to me than Prosecco Hills.

Any idea why Sila NP was withdrawn? One would think Italy is niow good at pushing through rejections. They could still end up with 2. Next year their nomination is more of a shoo-in and we should expect less drama.

Delighted to have confirmation of the nod for FLW buildings.

It also means that two big cities will join the WHL this year in the shape of LA and Chicago getting their first WHS as well as a first site in Manhattan, something for us devoted urbanites to be happy about.

Also will have a little celebration for winterkjm when the get inscribed, first listing for LA and Wisconsin!

Considering, as I type this message I've visited 5 of the 8 properties, I am very pleased! In a week, I will visit Taliesin in Spring Green (on my birthday) and I will visit Robie House in Chicago a couple days after. Therefore, soon the only FLW serial component I will have missed will be Fallingwater, which admittedly is an iconic site to miss!

As you mention, I will indeed have a little celebration! Thanks. I do hope the Department of Interior soon announces the Early Chicago Skyscrapers as a priority nomination. I would love to see Chicago emerge as a world heritage city! I am excited to have Hollyhock House in Los Angeles inscribed, its location on Hollywood Blvd (East Hollywood) might be the closest we get to a "Hollywood" inscription.

Yes, it's within the official geographical limit of Hollywood:

Both got a 'Not to inscribe' advice from ICOMOS.

Looks like a very clean and orderly WHC meeting coming up!

Paris: a minor modification?

If yes, the "Replica cultural sites" connection may contain the Statue of Liberty.
