Lots of good information in the documents; thanks to everyone involved in distilling the recommendations. I'm really curious to see what is in the missing addendums -- hopefully someone will realize soon that they are missing.

I wonder if the miner concerns listed previously are what led to the Klondike nomination to be withdrawn. I didn't see any updates on the Canadian nomination webpage or on their Facebook page.

I had a similar reaction, but with a handful of referred back nominations from the last 2 years and potentially overturned referral recommendation? It would not be surprising to have 20 inscriptions.

The biggest surprise for me is rejection for Quanzhou. And I think some referral/deferral will find their place on the list (crossed fingers for Colonies of Benevolence and Sassanian Archaeological Landscape... well for all the nominations!

Assuming that both referred sites of Ivrea and Fanjingshan are inscribed, Italy is still a no.1 country, China dream to be no.1 seem to be not happen easily. Italian seem to do everything to keep the throne.

Depends, the site is rather weak and the city has grown so much around these few spots that I would say Kamakura has a better chance than Quanzhou, but I guess I'm surprised if the state party doesn't get this inscribed with a political move.
I always considered this more of a tourism move because nobody really targets Quanzhou as a trip.

Generally it seems ICOMOS are trying to dissuade the similar sites across the world including wine culture, gothic churches, now war memorials (they didn't mention Hiroshima in their report). I don't think it's fair that the first one to inscribed is now the de facto for these. I heard a lot of people saying that Dachau is a better visit but I wouldn't know. All these mines that are inscribed already aren't all unique but most likely seemed that they were at the time.
