Does anyone know when the UNESCO website will be updated with nomination files, map (full components), etc?

I am waiting for this before I write my reviews for Qhapac Nan, The Grand Canal, and South China Karst.

It usually takes some time (weeks), but they seem to be getting quicker over the last years.

I am also still updating the website, I wasn't really prepared for that high number of new entries. I had prepared the "recommended for inscription" sites beforehand (texts, photo, some links or connections), but not the others.

Silly me, I could just have looked at the Connections. So far (i.e. before the above) we were at 28 vineyards

well using connection is maybe not a good idea, most sites in the list are just have small vinyard and not inscribe because of grape production, e.g. Schonbrunn Palace, Prague, Poblet or Australian Convict Sites.

Any thoughts on Australia's bid to de-list?

Yes I have often thought that the definition of this connection should be tightened up to only those sites where the vinyard aspect is a significant contribution to the site/CL's OUV

I presume this refers to the Tamanian boundary "shrinking" proposal??

It was given VERY short shrift!!! I was amazed that the Australian Government at the same time as it was trying to "escape" being censured on the Gt Barrier reef put this forward!

Here is some Australian reaction and a description of how the WHC handled it

I don't think Prime Minister Abbott will be hugely disappointed. He committed to some clearly important Liberal party "stakeholders" to make the submission and he can now tell them he did all he could. a yes vote from the WHC would have been much harder to manage domestically, despite the rhetoric.
