So where do we stand now?
In bold the ones we seem to agree on. Italic the maybe('s).

Aggtelek and Slovak Karst - only one of Aggtelek, Skocjan and Mammoth?
Alejandro de Humboldt National Park
Carlsbad Caverns
Desembarco del Granma National Park
Gunung Mulu - great example of a karst cave / karst pinnacles
Ha Long Bay - Perhaps the most recognized example of karst topography
Lena Pillars - unique example of a frost-derived karst
Mammoth Cave - only one of Aggtelek, Skocjan and Mammoth?
Nahanni National Park
Phong Nha - Ke Bang
Purnululu National Park - sandstone Karst
Skocjan Caves - only one of Aggtelek, Skocjan and Mammoth?
South China Karst - One of the best examples of continental karsts worldwide; "One of 2 great karst areas of the World"
Trang An
Tsingy de Bemaraha

elsslots: Why is South China Karst a Yes?"One of 2 great karst areas of the World"The skocjan selection would major on caves - this on stone forests etc

So this would mean a Yes for Skocjan too?

AB ev says about South China Karst: one of the two great karst regions of the world: the other is the 'classical karst' of the eastern Adriatic region of Europe, extending through Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Montenegro [latter represented on the list by Skocjan]

Also Skocjan has the bonus of being the place "where the study of karst topography began", as pointed out by Colvin

The "problem" with Skocjan is that it's not such a great site to visit. But I didn't like Aggtelek or Mammoth any better. Skocjan scientifically has more to say in its favour. But would I drag the little green man there?

P.S.: most of the other reviewers seemed to like it though

If you had the little green man with you I guess you could visit rather more of the 6.2 kms !!
It is , and always has been, difficult to evaluate sites on the basis of visit satisfaction. I supose that for some sites a nice visitor experience might tip the balance in favour and vv. We aren't (I presume) going to reject e.g Altamira because we can't visit. Skocjan seems to be getting in because of its karst significance alone.
