Malawi itinerary July 2022

As a return treat Tanzania Explorer (called Old Explorer outside Tanzania) at the end of our Tanzania tour asked us to join them on their recon trip through Malawi (south). They decided the itinerary, but all WHS's is now "on their list". We just had to accept this "free ride".

Drive Blantyre - Liwonde National Park
Evening Safari visit Liwonde
Overnight at Mvuu Lodge

Day 2
Morning river safari visit Liwonde
Evening safari visit Liwonde
Overnight at Mvuu Lodge

Day 3
Drive Liwonde - Cape MacClear Lake Malawi
Boat ride Cape MacClear - Mumbo island
Overnight at Mumbo lodge run by Kayak Africa

Day 4
Visit Lake Malawi WHS
Snorkelling and round the island
Hiking on the island
Overnight at Mumbo

Day 5
Boat ride Mumbo island - Cape MacClear
Drive Cape MacClear - Chongoni
Hike visit Chongoni rock art Mohunzi WHS
Drive Chongoni - Lilongwe
Overnight at Hotel Latitude 13 degrees

Day 6
Drive to Muzuni national airport Lilongwe
Flight Lilongwe - Blantyre - Jo'burg SA
