Visual Review: Flickr Album
In this short mostly visual review, I wanted to show Mount Taishan as I remember it and what you can expect. The trek up the mountain can feel endless, though with frequent stops it has its own rewards, including interesting steles and scenic mountain ridges. Once you enter the South Gate to Heaven, you can begin exploring some of the significant temples. Don't be too put off by "Heaven Street" which is a commercial street (restaurants, shops).

Alternatively you can hike for 4 kilometers to reach the halfway gate to heaven and then take the cablecar. Reasons to consider this option: season / heat, time restriction, physical ability
