1757-1834. Scottish Architect and Civil Engineer. Noted road, bridge and canal builder.

  • Edinburgh Dean Bridge is within the inscribed area of the "New Town". Designed by him in 1833. 4 arch 106ft above the Water of Leith.
  • Pontcysyllte Aqueduct and Canal Designed/Built by him in 1805.
  • Westminster Westminster Abbey - Buried (in the Nave) 1834.
