Mints

A mint is an industrial facility which manufactures coins for currency.

World Heritage Sites connected to 'Mints':

  • Kutná Hora The Italian Court held the Royal Mint to produce the Prague groschen, which was the basis for the coinage reform of King Wenceslaw II (1300)
  • Potosí La Moneda, a mint established in 1672 to coin the silver. The WHS is also explicitly linked to the economic change brought in the 16th century by the flood of Spanish currency resulting from the massive import of precious metals.
