Assif Am-David (Israel):
As an Israeli who went to highschool in a Kibbutz I'm familiar with the way of life and the architectonical structure of the Kibbutz. Therefore, for me Degania wasn't such a big excitement. Nonetheless, I think it must be fascinating for somebody who wants to learn more about this unique way of life and a must for every visitor to Israel.
Degania is also a represntative of the historic "Wall and Tower" settlements which were constructed during the Ottoman reign. The Jewish settlers had to construct a wall and a tower overnight because according to the Ottoman law such settlements had to be left standing. Date posted: May 2008
