The Laponian Area

Lapland’s world heritage, Laponia, stretches over an impressive 9400 square kilometres of cultural wilderness. What makes Laponia unique with its inclusion of four national parks and two nature reserves, is the combination of nature and culture. There are traces of human remains as old as 7000 years in the area.
