Dieste (Uruguay) is mentioned in articles from 2015, so it seems nomination is seriously planned for 2017.

Wow! I think I have seen them before, but never paid much attention, his works are incredible.

Even if they don't get inscribed I know what is on my itinerary for a first trip to Uruguay (whenever that may be):
The work of the engineer Eladio Dieste.

I haven't been able to find out which sites were selected for the nomination. The only monument that is guaranteed being included is Iglesia Cristo Obrero in Atlantida, an hour away from Montevideo. Other sites under consideration are Iglesia San Pedro in Durazno, the fruit market in Canelones and several buildings in Salto.

A new news report about the Dieste nomination.
http://www.elpais.com.uy/informacion/postularan-obras-dieste-patrimonio-humanidad.htm l
It is unclear as to whether it will be submitted in 2016 for 2017 or in 2017 for 2018. No more than 10 representative works will be selected. Already sure are:
Iglesia de Cristo Obrero (Atlantida)
Iglesia de San Pedro (Durazno)
Bus terminal (Salto)
Fagar soft drink factory (Tarariras)
Canal 7 antenna (Maldonado, next to Punta del Este)

Interesting news on the Great Spas of Europe nomination. Seems like some components of this serial nomination may be dropped.

"A UNESCO January meeting in Prague is to definitively decide on whether to follow the experts´ proposal or to reject it and approve the advancement of all 16 candidates."

Perhaps an optimistic hope, but several articles claim Churches and Christian Sites in Nagasaki (Japan) will try again in 2018.

It is hard to imagine Mumbai or Delhi NOT being submitted for 2018. I thinks its just a question about which city can strengthen the dossier and be ready. I certainly have some doubts about the Nagasaki Christian Sites nomination being ready for 2018. However, since there is no official nomination yet slotted for Japan in 2018, Nagasaki, if viable, could take that spot. Both of Italy's cultural nominations seem set on 2018, both might be submitted, but only one would be discussed by the WHC.

Durian:
Today is the deadline to ask the cabinet to approve the nomination, and no news report so high possibility that this nomination is going to miss the UNESCO deadline of 1 Feb.

This article indicates Thailand is still considering the criteria for this nomination. Safe to say, no for 2017, but a real possibility for 2018.
