Southwestern Coast Tidal Flats (Korea)

"The Cultural Heritage Administration plans to submit the application for the registration of the South Sea coastal tidal flats to the UNESCO World Heritage Center by January 2018, along with the 'Korean Seowon' selected in July, and the 43th World Heritage Committee."


Nice to see this nomination progressing after an initial, yet temporary delay in July.

Mrauk-U for 2019?

I think this might be both "Political" and "controversial" - Mrauk-U is situtated in Rakhine state where the expulsion of the Rohinga has been taking place.
Myanmar is perhaps trying to "show" that "everything is normal"? Would ICOMOS want to go to this area for evaluation? When we were due to go there a few years ago we were not able to as it wasn't considered stable. Perhaps it is more so today as all the Rohinga are now "elsewhere"!!
