Philippines

Over 7000 islands make up this country in South East Asia. Its five world heritahe sites are testimony its Spanish colonial history and its fine nature.

At the end of 2005, I toured the Phillipines by local transport for 3.5 weeks. My main focus was on Luzon, while I also stayed on Bohol for a few lazy days. I went to visit all 3 of Luzon's WHS, and managed to add one from the Tentative List also (Manila's steel gothic San Sebastian church).

Visits

Luzon, the Philippines

December 2005
After many, many short trips this year in December I finally succeeded to enjoy one of my favourite ways of travel: discovering a new country in Asia by means of public transport, just roaming around for a few weeks.
The Phillipines aren't an easy country to grasp or describe: there always seem to be several sides to every aspect of Filipino life.
On the WHS front, I can add three new ones to my visited list - with the Rice Terraces as the most recommended one.
