The most impressive monument of Guatemala, and probably of whole Central-America, is Tikal. This ancien Mayan site in the jungle near Flores has become a major tourist attraction, and can of course also be found on the Worldheritage List.
In 1997 I visited Guatemala, together with its neighbour Mexico. Though definitely less Spanish than Mexico, what I saw didn't warm me for a longer trip through Central-America. Probably I will never visit the third Worldheritagesite in Guatemala, Quirigua.
